By combining ozone and ultraviolet disinfection system, advanced oxidation system (AOP) can disinfect coliform and general bacteria
Chlorine that is used for disinfection in waterworks can produce carcinogenic substance such as chlorophenol, chlorobenzen, etc by the reaction of organic materials in water (phenol, benzene, etc). In addition, secondary contamination could be induced from contaminated or corroded pipeline even though the introductions of proper tap water. Water storage in each apartment complex is susceptible to introduction of air, and water will be contaminated by general bacteria, dust, and etc. Therefore, fundamental water quality monitoring system and thorough disinfection process is needed. In addition, steady supply of hygienic water through advanced purification system is proposed.
Advanced oxidation technology can oxidize and decompose carcinogenic materials, such as trihalomethane, chlorines, etc that are used to disinfection of water. Generally well known oxidizers (chlorine-based chemicals, hydrogen peroxide, and potassium permanganate) can induce secondary contaminants, and destroy eco-system. In AOP method, OH radical (2.5 times of oxidizing capability compared to ozone) from ozone decomposition can maximize the performance as oxidizer, and prevent the re-contamination.
If water fills, water is recycled to pre-treatment process to prevent any contamination in water reservoir.
- Water softener system and advanced oxidation system can be implemented as primary water treatment, and secondary individual water treatment can provide steady and hygienic drinking water.
